Smooth Skin and Bags of Money for Primrose Hospice
During the month of August, The Pearl Group staff at Wythall raised funds for Primrose Hospice, a local charity serving patients with cancer and other life limiting illnesses. Together with matching by the company, the charity will receive a fantastic total of over £1,900!
Craig Stevens and his colleagues from Actuarial and Finance collected a jaw-dropping £1,200 in sponsorship funds for the hospice. Craig endured pain that few men will ever experience by having his abundant chest hair waxed by two amateur beauticians on Thursday 27 August. The brutal ordeal lasted almost one hour during which Craig’s screams were heard throughout the building. The results speak for themselves – an outstanding sum raised for charity, and a chest as smooth as a baby’s bottom. A million thanks go to Craig, Charnjit Kaur, Rachel Grosvenor, Joe Wright and everyone who sponsored this great cause.
Wythall staff also raised funds through the Charity Quiz Night on 27 August. Eight teams battled it out through eighty questions on diverse topics to earn the title of the office’s brainiest team. Congratulations and many thanks to Nick Watkins' team (Sid’s Dorsal Fin), who won the £100 grand prize and kindly donated it to Primrose Hospice. Many thanks also to former Pearl colleague Steve Parsons, who kindly created and moderated the quiz.
