Sharer of Care

Every Princess needs a Prince Charming . . . will you be ours?

Primrose at the Princess, the in-patient palliative care unit located at the Princess of Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove, is a partnership between Primrose and Worcestershire Primary Care Trust (PCT). Formally opened by the Duchess of Gloucester in July 2004, the unit cares for patients with cancer and other life limiting illnesses from which they are unlikely to recover. The short periods of specialised care help to improve the quality of life for patients and their families in Bromsgrove, Redditch and the surrounding areas.

Primrose Hospice has committed to contributing annually towards the running costs of the unit. This breaks down to £46.00 per day to care for each patient in each of the 6 rooms in the bedded unit. This is in addition to continuing to fund the Day Hospice at St Godwalds Road and its support services.

We are seeking 'Prince Charmings' and 'Fairy Godmothers' to help our Princess. By committing to £4.00 per month by Standing Order, you can become a Sharer of Care.

Most of all - you receive the personal satisfaction of knowing that you are contributing towards the provision of a patient's care for one day a year at Primrose at the Princess. With one in three people likely to be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives, it is good to know that specialist care is available when it's needed.
