Service of Commitment and Blessing joy for Primrose Hospice patient John

Day Hospice patient John Simmonds and his partner Thelma Featherstone celebrated their relationship at a moving ceremony and lunch on Friday 24th April. They arrived in a Bentley, kindly driven by one of our volunteers.

The ceremony was held in front of over sixty guests in the hospice's new Garden Room. They expressed their commitment to each other with a blessing led by the hospice’s chaplain, Keith Judson.

Volunteer Ronnie sang a gorgeous solo, and Keith sang and played one of his own compositions. John's daughter gave a moving speech, and Volunteers Manager Jo gave a short reading.

Webbs of Wychbold kindly donated a beautiful metal, rose-covered arch to be used during the ceremony, which was decked in flowers by one of our volunteers.

The couple asked for donations to the hospice instead of presents.

The event was a beautiful and moving day for the couple, and a great day of celebration for the hospice and their guests.
