Primrose Show Garden at RHS Malvern Highlights

Here are the highlights from each day of the RHS Malvern Spring Festival and our show garden 'Time is a Healer'...

Day One- Thursday 5th May 2016

We had an amazing first day at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival yesterday (Thursday 5th May). Highlights included: the garden winning a bronze medal, visits from Alan Titchmarsh and Midlands Today’s Joanne Malin, filming for BBC’s Gardener’s World and CEO Helen Briscoe and garden designer Martyn Wilson being interviewed for BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester!

Day Two - Friday 6th May

Today was a day to remember for a coach load of our Day Hospice patients, with a day of sunshine, champers and celebrities - meeting gardening leegend Alan Titchmarsh! We also had a visit from some school children, who had a guided tour of the garden with designer Martyn Wilson. The highlight of the day was definately winning the People's Choice award, a huge opportunity to promote the hospice and well deserved for Martyn and his team.

Day Three - Saturday 7th May

Another day of beautiful weather until late afternoon when the heavens opened and flooded the Primrose stand!

Final Day - Sunday 8th May
The final day of the show was family day, and we had some very special children visit our garden, who are supported by our Children’s Support service. Becky, who had kindly featured on our pre-show BBC Hereford and Worcester radio interview with Malcolm Boyden, came with her mum. We also had a visit from Lucy and Henry, who featured in our photos for the event, including posing with Primrose’s dog Trevor. At 4pm the plant sell off began – it was sad seeing the garden being taken apart, but all the money from the plant sales has come to the hospice.
