Goodbye to a dear friend

We said goodbye to Wendy Stokes in Fundraising on Friday 9th May (although Wendy has kindly agreed to come back temporarily to help out with Ladies Day).

Wendy has been a member of the team since 2006 and has worked hard to help bring in the necessary funds needed to run Primrose. Wendy has made good networks with businesses and is going out on a high as Redditch Marks and Spencer have just named us as their Charity of the Year!

Well done Wendy and thank you for all your hard work. We wish you all the best for the future.

Wendy has asked to pass this message on to all of our lovely supporters:

"As most of you know by now, I am leaving the hospice on the 9th May, and wanted to take this opportunity to say goodbye.

I started work at Primrose in July 2006 as an administrator in the Fundraising Department and have slowly seen my role develop to become a fully-fledged Fundraiser! During that time I have been lost in Valkenburg on a trip to the Christmas markets, been sat with Lyn in Sanders Park at 5.30am on a chilly March morning after the Midnight walk, and have clung, quite literally, to a gazebo in the hail, wind, and snow on the Clent Hills! To name just a few of the more interesting moments!

But what I can say is whether I have been at Ladies Day in the sunshine, or in the pouring rain and freezing cold I have enjoyed every single moment of it, and for me it has been both a great privilege and a pleasure to have been part of the Primrose Fundraising Team and to have met and worked with so many lovely people along the way."
