First steps towards our Children's Transitional Relief Garden

On Thursday 30th May, children from our family support centre joined Liz Fraser from Little Heath Garden Centre in Lickey End, Bromsgrove to plant the first steps towards what will eventually be a children’s transitional garden at Primrose Hospice. Little Heath kindly gave their support as part of Garden Relief week – a scheme where local garden centres have the opportunity to support the Green Fingers charity who raise money for planting gardens for children’s hospices. All the plants, pots and compost, as well as Liz’s time, were donated by the garden centre.

Liz said ‘It is always a pleasure to be involved with projects like this and be able to give support to such a great cause’.

One of the families taking part on the day were Isla and her family who have been accessing support from Primrose for over a year following a life threatening condition being diagnosed within the family. All the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves with the rain holding off long enough for the planting to get done.
