Primrose at the Princess is the name for the
palliative care unit based at the Princess of
Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove.
Palliative care concentrates on pain and symptom
control for people with chronic or life limiting
conditions from which they will not recover.
The unit, which was developed via a partnership
between Primrose Hospice and the Redditch &
Bromsgrove Primary Care Trust, consists of 6
individual en-suite bedrooms, which are comfortably
equipped to create a real home-from-home feeling.
There is also a fully equipped kitchen within
the unit, as well as a patients' sitting room
and visitors' room, which have direct access
to an enclosed garden area.
Patients are admitted to this specialised unit
under the care of the Consultant in Palliative
Medicine, and the whole team is experienced
in managing pain and symptom control.
Primrose contributes £100,000 annually
towards the running costs of Primrose at the
Princess. If you would like to help us meet
