Birthday ball success for local hospice

On Friday 29th September Primrose Hospice celebrated 30 years of service to the local community by hosting a Birthday Ball, at the Holiday Inn in Bromsgrove.

The sold out event attracted over 160 guests, which included local businesses, as well as Trustees, volunteers, staff and associates. The main ball sponsor was local housing developer Kendrick Homes, based in Stourbridge.

Emma Williams, Fundraising Manager – Community Engagement commented “The event was a huge success and the first of its kind in support of Primrose Hospice in many years. Guests partied the night away until the small hours to the fabulous entertainment, which was provided by live local band, Soultrader. We are extremely grateful to everyone that came along and to the event sponsors and to everyone who helped make the ball the huge success that it was”

The band were kindly sponsored by Aspire Business Partnership, based in Bromsgrove. Guests were welcomed to the event with a glass of prosecco which was kindly sponsored by Workforce based in Redditch.

Malcolm Boyden, BBC Hereford and Worcester Radio presenter was the compere for the evening event with Roger Powell conducting the auction which saw over 13 auctions lots, a game of heads and tails, as well as a raffle, which in turn raised almost £6,000 on the night of the Ball.

The overall amount raised is £14,000 which everyone at the hospice is overwhelmed by and extremely grateful for. We simply could not do what we do without the support of the local community and local businesses.
