A big THANK YOU to all our Primrose volunteers

June 1st - 7th is national Volunteers Week, and we want to thank our 400+ volunteers who give their time to help keep the hospice offering its wonderul free services.

Without the tireless help of our volunteers, we would not be able to provide many of our free services. Primrose Hospice currently receives just 20% of its funding from the NHS, and we have to raise over £1.6 million annually. Without our volunteers, this figure would be much higher.

Within the hospice we have a range of volunteering roles, a few are: Day Hospice helpers, receptionists, complimentary therapists, cooks, gardeners, patient drivers, family support workers and administrative support… to name just a few!

One volunteer said:

“I have been volunteering as a driver now for four years and I can honestly say it’s the best thing that I have ever done in my whole working life. I look forward to it every week as I know that my small act of kindness is enabling the patients to receive the fantastic support from the hospice.”

The hospice is always looking for volunteers. For more information, please contact Jo Merritt, Volunteers Manager on 01527 875444.
